I finally managed to be organised and pick up a piece from the latest drop. I ordered the silver pendulum with Maleficent rock/pendant. I received my order quickly but honestly picking the parcel up and hearing the sound of cheap metal clinking was super disappointing.
I appreciate this is a small business but given the unit price was £50 plus a cheeky 20% tax addition added at the checkout, I feel like better quality components should be used to reflect the price of the product. The metal 'alloy' chain feels cheap and lightweight. The pendant itself is stunning and the chain just really let's it down. Also, none of the links are fully closed and the clasp is stiff and has sharp edges to it. The packaging is stunning and honestly feels like more effort has gone into that than sourcing good quality materials.
Having checked the FAQ it does state the chain is aluminium alloy so I will be more vigilant with checking details like this in the future. There is also an article justifying the use of aluminium so I feel like I'm not the first person to question the use of the material.
I think a large statement piece of jewellery should have a bit more weight to it but maybe that's just personal preference in associating weight with quality.
I'm happy I have the piece but it won't be for frequent wear. Such a shame :(
